Controlled Absorption Acoustic Panels

Controlled Absorption Acoustic Panels

For our Capstone Project, we sought out to create an acoustic treatment that offers flexibility to the user. Standard acoustic panels are used in spaces to control the reverb and liveliness of a space. But, in most cases, once a panel is installed, the effect is set in stone and there is not any variation in the sound of the room. Using a Bluetooth-controlled Plexiglass screen, our Controlled Absorption Acoustic Panel offers variety and flexibility in how the user wants the room to sound. By altering the amount of fiberglass insulation in the direct line of sound, we can adjust the Reverb time and impulse response of the room to fit the user’s sonic intentions.
