Brittney Boykin's Class Wins ‘Best Large Class’

January 16, 2025
Georgia Tech students have spoken, and they’re singing the praises of Brittney Boykin! In the 2024 CIOS Awards, Boykin’s MUSI 3241: Chorale class was voted the Best Large Class in the College of Design.
Students have resonated with her passion, enthusiasm, and the sense of community she fosters in the classroom. It's no surprise, given Boykin's impressive resume as a conductor and composer, including her recent win at the World Choir Games and her work with the Kennedy Center's American Opera Initiative.
Boykin’s Chorale class, a non-auditioned mixed ensemble, combines diverse musical backgrounds, bringing Georgia Tech students together to explore a wide range of choral music—from classical to contemporary.
Boykin's ability to blend musical excellence with a collaborative, supportive environment has made her class a standout in the School of Music. Her commitment to teaching as well as inspiring her students was evident in this year's award voting.
The student response rate must exceed 85% for the CIOS Award, making Boykin's recognition a testament to her dedication to both her students and her craft. As she continues to lead the Treble Choir and make waves in the world of choral music, Boykin’s ability to connect with her students ensures that her MUSI 3241: Chorale class will remain one of the best—and most celebrated—at Georgia Tech for years to come.
